This dance is a variation on "Hickman's Hey". It was named for the drawing of a frog playing the fiddle that serves as the logo of the California Dance Co-Operative. I wrote it after attending a "Fiddling Frog" contra dance
weekend, which also takes it's name from this logo. This dance is included in the book "(southern) California Twirls" edited by James Hutson and Jeffrey Spero. Shortly after writing this dance, I was inspired to compose an accompanying tune which became the "Fiddling Frog Polka"
